Since its invention in 1967, the Italy Scrub Towel has become an iconic item in Korean bathing culture that is used in homes and public bath houses. They are known as Italy towels because the fabric used was initially made in Italy using 100% Rayon. These towels are manufactured by a historical towel and fabric manufacturer founded in 1949, who updated their repetoire to include these exfoliating body-cloths. Traditionally, Koreans had used normal towels wrapped around a rock to scrub the body, but the rough texture of the Italy Towel provided the perfect modern update.
